Boob Check O’Clock!

💗 At Basic Intimates, Your Health Comes First

At Basic Intimates, we believe feeling fabulous in your own skin isn’t just about style—it’s also about health. That’s why we’re here to remind you of something truly important: regular breast self-exams. Taking a few minutes each month can make a world of difference in early detection and peace of mind.

🌸 How to Do a Breast Self-Exam

1. In the Shower

  • Use the pads of your fingers to move in small circles across your entire breast, starting from the outer edge and moving inward.
  • Don’t forget your armpit area.
  • Feel for lumps, thickened areas, or anything unusual.

2. In Front of a Mirror

  • First, stand with your arms relaxed, then raise them overhead. Look for changes in size, shape, or skin texture.
  • Next, press your hands firmly on your hips to flex your chest muscles. Watch for dimpling, puckering, or changes in contour.

3. Lying Down

  • Place a pillow under one shoulder and use the opposite hand to examine the breast in small circular motions.
  • Check the entire breast area, including underarm.
  • Gently squeeze the nipple to check for any discharge.

👀 What to Look Out For

  • Lumps, hard spots, or thickened tissue in the breast or underarm.
  • Changes in size, shape, or appearance.
  • Persistent, unexplained breast pain.
  • Skin changes like dimpling, redness, or puckering.
  • Nipple changes: discharge, inversion, or unusual texture.

🎀 Remember

A good-fitting bra is not just about beauty and comfort—it also supports breast health. At Basic Intimates, we also provide mastectomy bras and breast prostheses, designed with both comfort and confidence in mind for women after breast surgery.

Take a few minutes every month to care for your breasts. Your health deserves the same attention as your style. 💗
